Veronica watched in amazement as the
mysterious man jumped over the railing and landed on the
roof below, completely uninjured! She looked at the
umbrella in her hand and yelled down, "Surely you jest,
sir!" Putting her hand on her right hip, she realized
that her Relto book was no longer there. "Where...?"
Peering over the railing again, she can see her Relto
book balancing on the edge of the roof above the
classroom.
"GRIZZ?!!!!"

no longer a danger to

Professor Thietris, drawn by Veronica's
incessant yelling, left his desk where he had been
studying the artifacts sent from Elkae. As he
walked through the classroom door, Veronica's Relto book
wavered a few more times and then landed with a thud
right on top of his
head.

society. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As soon as they landed on the classroom
roof, MrD handed the young lady the open brolly, then
dropped her over the ledge. Her descent was uneventful
(though she screamed all the way), but her landing
wasn't. Soft though it would have been anyway, it was
made even softer by following the book onto the top of
Thietris' head.
As Veronica's Relto book fell,
tumbling over and over, it opened. As it hit Professor
Thietris with a THUD on his head, he barely had time to
be startled before he vanished with that wierd linking
sound echoing where he had
been.
------------------------------------- Remember,
I was never here, and this conversation never
happened.
Meanwhile: In one of the old mansions
in the dark northern sector, light was coming out of the
windows on each of the three floors. Currently, Speedy,
Grassie, and Dr. Warrell were exploring the house,
searching for other unique artifacts, but trying to find
some sort of journals so they can find out what is
really inside those 'badger books' as they like to call
them. Speedy was inspecting the top level, were the
bedrooms appeared to be. There are not many closets or
bookshelves up there, Speedy suspected that there are a
few good hiding places. She tapped walls, searched
underneath tables and chairs for buttons, opened
drawers, and even inspected some of the wonderful
artwork to find some sort of clue to a hidden hole
somewhere. Dr. Warrell was searching the main level,
where the kitchen, dining room, a sitting room, and some
sort of a weird greenhouse was. He thought it was rather
interesting how the D'ni had a greenhouse of some sorts
if they didn't have any sunlight. Pots were scattered
all over the place, still containing dirt and more than
likely some dead roots from neglect. Grassie,
meanwhile, was in the basement, searching the rest of
the study and storage rooms. As he opened various jars,
he could catch wiffs of what was once in them, giving
him ideas on what kinds of food the D'ni once had
eaten. Of course, these explorers were writing down
all of their discoveries, as well as taking numerous
pictures. It will be a pretty big report when all of
this is finished. After searching for a few hours,
someone yelled, "HOLY COW!!!"
Studying gives
you knowledge. Knowledge is power. Power corrupts. I am
learning how to be corrupt.
Meanwhile, back in the DISCO, Cordelia
agreed with Grizz it was time to go over the Egg Room to
get breakfast.
On their way up the stairs they
heard a commotion going on with lots of screaming and
shouting. Just as Cordelia looked up she saw Veronica
floating down from the roof of the Classroom holding a
big green brolly.
Grinning at Grizz, Cordelia
said "looks like Veronica has mastered the balcony jump
then - something that I could never do". Grizz smiled
and replied "I am amazed she even tried, but what was
the linking noise I just heard?"
It was at that
moment that they noticed Veronica's Relto book laying
open the ground. As Veronica went to pick it up Cordelia
realised that whoever had just linked out had clearly
gone to Veronica's Relto and if it wasn't her, then who
was it?

The X meant he
had already collected it, and as he linked to Kemo, he
pitched his tent for the night, set up a campfire and
began some experiments on the bacteria in the
water/fungus. He left them going and ran off to the
fishpond in Kemo.
Thankfully the fishpond had NO
security, but he checked all of the lilypads for hidden
cameras or spies, and then took a test tube, and plunged
it into the water. A second later he took it out. He
also took a fish out of the water with it. Thankfully
the Kemofish didn't have sharp teeth, but the experiment
had proved if nothing else that fishing in Kemo was a
lot easier than it looked.
Just as he was about
to put the fish back, he realised that he hadn't brought
any food at DISCO. He pulled the fish off his hand
delicately and bashed it against a couple of rocks (NOT
singing any Gollum-like songs), and then returned to his
camp for the night with some dinner.
Of course,
FM had to set up his campfire under a Rotunda, because
Kemo weather is HORRIBLE and there is no such thing as a
cold, dry night, only that horrible torrential rain...It
also meant he'd have to wait until morning to get some
of the fireflies...

Hmm, I knew that fish
tasted a little bit funny...but it seemed okay, all my
vital organs still working. I'm sure if people weren't
eating them there would've been more in pond..At least
if I get sick after eating said fish it will go towards
my research. *makes note to keep some
fish*
Ghostly Elkae seems to be popping up a lot
too, at this rate we're going to have to do a
Seance(sp?) to get a straight answer out of our
ghost...or call in a priest to get rid of her..suppose
its our choice..Either way we're going to hope DISCO can
supply us with some
candles...

Veronica stood in front of the
classroom, a big green umbrella in one hand and her
Relto book in the other. Still stunned over her 'rescue'
from the balcony, she shook her head to clear it and
then said, "I heard a linking sound closeby, but I don't
see anyone...how odd." She re-attached her book to her
hip and said casually, "That certainly was fun, I'll be
sure and enter that way more often." She walked
unsteadily to the Eggroom for breakfast, and Grizz and
Cordelia smiled at each other knowing perfectly well
that she would never enter that way again, if she could
help it.

Now that the entertainment is over,
Cordelia realises she had better go and see if the
professor needs her to do anything. Of course, it is
Saturday and everyone is entitled to the weekend off,
but she doesn't mind as Professor T is a very fair
employer
Her headache has
nearly gone and she is in a good mood after sharing a
laugh with Grizz over Veronica's new found entrance to
the Institution
She walks over
to the Professor's office and pokes her head round the
door, "good afternoon Professor - have you quite
recovered from your party last night?" she asks. Sadly
there is no reply and when she goes inside the office
there is no sign of the little squirrel either
She rushes back
out of the office and runs all the way down the stairs
shouting out "has anyone seen Professor Thietris? He
appears to have disappeared."

It was a very disgruntled and

taking HIS fish!

Professor T materializes on his Relto in
somewhat more of a recumbent position than is usual
among experienced linkers. He looks up and realizes that
he has a splitting headache. He frowns. Surely his tree
was bigger than that. And why wasn't it raining? He
lowers his head again and groans. It must have been some
party.
